Los Angeles Newborn Photographer

Katie Katsenis

My goal is not simply to create beautiful images. My goal is to help families preserve the details, relationships, and moments that disappear far faster than most of us expect.

The portraits we create together become more valuable with time. They remind your children where their story began, how they were welcomed into the world, and how completely they were loved from the very beginning.

About Panos Productions Photography

The Day I Realized Memory Isn’t Enough

When my goddaughter was three, she pulled her newborn album off the shelf for the hundredth time. "Tell me about when I was tiny," she said, running her fingers over a photo of herself at eight days old, her whole hand wrapped around my thumb.

I looked at that image—one I'd taken myself—and realized something. I could tell her the big things. Yes, you were born on a Tuesday. Yes, you had dark hair. But the small details? They were already fuzzy. Did she scrunch her nose when she yawned, or was that her brother? What did her cry sound like in those first weeks? I thought I'd never forget. But I did.

That's what I help moms preserve now. Not just the fact that they had a baby, but the details that slip away faster than anyone expects. The way their newborn's fingers curled. The exact shade of their downy hair. That intense, beautiful, exhausting first three months when this tiny human needed them completely. I create heirloom albums with 20 to 50 images that capture who this baby actually was—not just that they existed, but the miracle of what mom created.

Because here's what I know: kids grow up and want to see themselves when they were brand new. They want proof of how much they were loved from day one. And moms deserve to look back and remember—really remember—what those early days felt like. Pregnancy and birth are miraculous. Those memories shouldn't live in our phones or fade into "I think she did that, or was it...?"

I want a future where families value professional images of major life events. Where preserving these moments isn't an afterthought, but something we choose because we know how fast the details disappear. You can't peer pressure someone into caring about this—it has to matter to them. But once it does? Those albums become treasures that get pulled off the shelf again and again.

Most mothers spend those first weeks focused on feeding schedules, doctor's appointments, laundry, and simply getting through the day. Years later, many remember how much they loved their baby, but not the tiny details that made those early days unique. Memory preserves the feeling. Photographs preserve the details.

Why Families Choose Panos Productions

Choosing a newborn photographer is about far more than finding someone with a camera.

You're trusting someone with one of the most important people in your life during one of the most meaningful seasons your family will ever experience.

Families choose Panos Productions because they want:

  • A calm, baby-led portrait experience that follows their newborn's needs rather than a rigid schedule.

  • Guidance from a photographer who has photographed more than 350 newborns.

  • Beautiful wraps, props, gowns, and carefully designed studio sets without the stress of bringing everything themselves.

  • Timeless artwork that will still look beautiful decades from now.

  • An experience that feels relaxed, welcoming, and thoughtfully planned from beginning to end.

Every portrait session is designed to be unhurried so parents can enjoy the experience instead of worrying about every little detail.

My Philosophy

I believe motherhood is one of life's greatest transformations.

It is exhausting.

It is joyful.

It is overwhelming.

It is beautiful.

Too often, mothers spend their days documenting everyone else's memories while rarely appearing in them.

I believe mothers deserve to be part of the story.

Whether during maternity portraits, newborn photography, milestone sessions, or family portraits, I intentionally create images that celebrate not only your child, but the extraordinary love that surrounds them.

What to Expect

I believe your portrait session should feel calm from the moment you arrive.

Before your session, you'll receive guidance to help you prepare. You don't have to wonder what to bring, what your baby should wear, or how everything will work.

At the studio you'll find carefully selected wraps, blankets, outfits, headbands, bonnets, props, and maternity gowns ready for your session.

Newborn sessions are always baby-led. We pause whenever your baby needs to eat, be soothed, or simply be held.

There is never pressure to rush.

My goal is to create an experience that feels just as meaningful as the photographs themselves.

Experience That Shapes My Photography

Long before I became a professional photographer, I spent nearly twenty years teaching special education.

That experience taught me patience, flexibility, and how every child communicates differently.

Today, those same qualities guide every newborn and family session.

Along the way, I have continued investing in professional education, including:

  • Certified Professional Photographer (CPP)

  • More than 350 newborn portrait sessions photographed

  • Continuing education in newborn care and safety

  • Professional training with internationally recognized newborn photographers

  • A Master of Arts in Philosophy, which probably explains why I think so much about legacy, memory, and what truly matters

I believe learning never stops, and every family deserves my very best work.

Is My Studio the Right Fit?

My studio may be the perfect fit if you:

  • Love timeless portraits that won't feel dated in ten years.

  • Value printed artwork and albums that become family heirlooms.

  • Appreciate careful planning and attention to detail.

  • Want a relaxed experience where your baby's comfort comes first.

  • Prefer a full-service portrait experience instead of simply receiving digital files.

If you're looking for the fastest possible session or only a few quick snapshots, I may not be the right photographer—and that's perfectly okay.

My goal has always been to create portraits that become part of your family's history.

What I Hope Your Children See Someday

Years from now, I hope your children pull an album from a shelf and see more than photographs.

I hope they see how much they were loved.

I hope they see the excitement of waiting for them in your maternity portraits.

I hope they see how gently they were held in your newborn photographs.

I hope they see laughter, connection, and the beginning of a story they were too young to remember themselves.

Most of all, I hope they see the incredible love that surrounded them from the very beginning.

Beyond Photography

A few things that make me, me:

  • I taught special education for nearly twenty years.

  • I hold a Master of Arts in Philosophy.

  • Panos Productions Photography is named in honor of my father.

  • I love mountain biking and have ridden in the Swiss Alps.

  • I'm always happy to have a conversation about philosophy, photography, or why family photographs become more valuable every year.

Someday...

Someday, your child may pull an album from the shelf and ask,

"Tell me about when I was little."

My hope is that you'll have more than memories.

You'll have photographs that bring those memories rushing back.

Because childhood passes quickly.

But the stories we preserve can last for generations.
