Katie Katsenis is an experienced and certified maternity and newborn photographer. She uses her 15 + years of experience as a teacher to create authentic portraits of babies and kids. Katie has also completed newborn care specialist and photography safety training. You can be assured she knows how to handle your newborn safely and comfortably.
Studio sessions are held in the La Crescenta area about 20 miles north of downtown Los Angeles. Enjoy a private, peaceful and beautiful studio setting. Each newborn session is custom created using parent input and baby’s age and demeanor. Parents and siblings always welcome. Many props and clothes are available. Affordable custom sessions with easy online booking.

All sessions are baby led. In general, studio newborn sessions are best done under 14 days old.

Questions and Answers
What if I booked a date, but my baby comes early or late?
No problem. This is common in newborn photography. When you book a “ session date”, it means you are on the studio calendar and you are a scheduling priority. Once your baby is born, tell me right away so we can get you in as early as possible.
Will You Take Family Shots?
Yes. At your pre-session consultation, we will discuss your priorities and make a plan for the best strategy to get the images you care about most.
How Many Images Can I Expect To Choose From In My Gallery?
Each newborn session varies. The age and demeanor of the baby, and how well they were prepared for the session all play a part. In general, you can expect 10 to 25 images to select from. But I have had sessions where only 5 or 6 images were able to be made.
Can I Bring My Own Props?
No. I do not accept outside props with the exception of wedding rings. I also do NOT do themed shoots or shoots in sports gear.
Can Other Family Members Come?
Sessions are for mom and dad . I shoot in a tiny space and I need it all to take images of the baby.
How Do I Prepare?
Preparing the baby is very important. We want them fairly tired and just a bit hungry when they arrive so they fall asleep fast right after you feed them. I know it's hard. Unfortunately, if it takes 20 minutes after feeding for your baby to stop crying or be calm, that goes against your session time. I use proven pediatrician approved strategies to help soothe and calm. When you book, I will send you best practices about how to prepare you and the baby for a productive session.
What Happens After The Session?
About 14 days after your session, we will schedule a time for you and all stakeholders (grandparents, aunts/uncles etc.) to meet. During this time you will view your images and make your decisions about your purchase. I will finalize the editing and deliver your mobile app with image to view and share about 7 business days after selection. Prints take about 2 weeks to arrive.
What If My Baby Is More Than 14 Days Old?
Babies 14 days old or more are considered “older” when it comes to studio newborn portraits. There are some exceptions, like if your baby was born prematurely. If your Little one is under 40 days old studio portraits are still possible. Call me to discuss your options.
