Private Santa Photo Booking Guide | Glendale & Los Angeles
Private Santa sessions are about much more than a quick picture. Your family enjoys uninterrupted time with Santa, allowing genuine conversations, laughter, and meaningful moments to unfold naturally. Parents are always welcome to join the experience, creating Christmas portraits that celebrate the entire family's holiday tradition—not just a single smile for the camera.
Planning a Santa session should feel exciting—not confusing.
If you're searching for Santa photos in Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, or the Los Angeles area, you've probably noticed that every photographer offers something a little different.
Some offer quick mall-style photos.
Others offer private experiences with a professional Santa.
This guide answers the questions families ask most often before booking so you know exactly what to expect.
If you're just starting your search, my Complete Guide to Santa Photos in Los Angeles walks you through everything from choosing a Santa photographer to preparing your child for their visit.
When should I book my Santa session?
The earlier, the better.
Many families begin planning their Christmas cards and holiday gifts in late summer, which is why Santa sessions often begin booking months before Christmas.
If you know you'd like a private Santa experience, I recommend reserving your session as soon as you decide. Once the schedule is full, it can be difficult to add additional dates. There are not that many Santa’s out there; and when they are booked, they are booked.
Why is payment due at the time of booking?
Each Santa session is reserved exclusively for one family.
Unlike many portrait sessions, preparing for Santa's Workshop begins long before your arrival. The set is carefully maintained, props are prepared, treats are ordered, and one of Southern California's most experienced professional Santas has been reserved specifically for these limited dates.
Because every appointment is held just for your family, payment is required to reserve your session.
This allows me to keep the experience relaxed, personalized, and never overbooked.
What if my child gets sick?
Children get sick, especially during the holiday season.
If someone in your family becomes ill, please contact me as soon as possible. Whenever scheduling allows, I'll do my best to move your session to another available appointment.
Because Santa's schedule is extremely limited, rescheduling cannot always be guaranteed once the calendar is full.
What if we're running late?
It’s always tough to get out the door with kids. But on this day, plan to be at our studio doors 5 minutes before you time slot with Santa. This gives me one last chance to confirm your child’s name, see if you want Santa to know anything else, accomplishments etc., and to brief Santa before you child meets him.
Each family has a reserved appointment, and arriving on time allows every child to enjoy the complete experience without feeling rushed.
Late arrivals may reduce the amount of time available for your session.
How long is the Santa experience?
Your private Santa session lasts 20 minutes.
That may sound short, but you'll be surprised how much happens during those twenty minutes.
Children aren't simply asked to smile at the camera.
Depending on your child's age and comfort level, your visit may include:
Meeting Santa
Finding their name on the Nice List
Reading a Christmas story
Looking into Santa's magical globe
Sharing Christmas wishes
Cookies and conversation
Family portraits
Individual portraits
Plenty of genuine interaction
Every child experiences Santa differently, so no two sessions are exactly alike.

How many images are included?
Your session includes 8 professionally hand-edited digital images.
Each selected image is individually retouched to create polished, finished portraits suitable for printing and displaying for years to come.
Can I purchase additional images?
Yes.
You'll have the opportunity to purchase:
Additional hand-edited portraits
Additional lightly edited digital images
Your complete lightly edited gallery
A personalized Santa Storybook our signature item.
Many families appreciate having these options available if they fall in love with more than their included images.
Can I purchase more photos later?
Your ordering appointment is the time to choose any additional images or artwork you'd like to purchase.
Because galleries are archived after your order is completed, I encourage families to make all of their selections during this appointment. Most parents find it's easiest to choose their favorites while the excitement of the Santa experience is still fresh.
If you later discover that you'd like additional images, I'll certainly do my best to accommodate your request whenever possible. However, I can't guarantee that archived galleries will always be available, so I recommend making your final selections during your ordering appointment.
Can parents and siblings be included?
Absolutely! Your Santa session is reserved exclusively for your family and is priced per family, not per child.
How you spend your time with Santa is entirely up to you. Some families choose to focus on the children, while others include parents, siblings, and a variety of family portraits. You might want individual portraits of each child, siblings together, the entire family with Santa, or a combination of all three.
The activities can be customized, too. Younger children may enjoy finding their name on Santa's Nice List or listening to a Christmas story, while older children may prefer chatting with Santa about their accomplishments, holiday traditions, or Christmas wishes.
Because every family is different, your session is tailored to create the experience—and the photographs—that are most meaningful to you.
What makes a private Santa session different?
Every Santa visit is thoughtfully personalized for your child.
Before your session, you'll complete a short questionnaire so Santa can learn a little about your family. When your child arrives, Santa greets them by name, knows some of the wonderful things they've accomplished during the year, and even has their name waiting on his Nice List.
Instead of rushing through a line, your family enjoys uninterrupted time together as Santa reads a story, listens to Christmas wishes, shares magical moments, and lets the experience unfold naturally at your child's pace.
No two sessions are exactly alike because no two children are alike.
My goal isn't simply to create beautiful Christmas portraits—it's to create an unforgettable experience that feels personal, genuine, and filled with wonder long after the holiday season has passed.
How do I reserve my Santa session?
When you're ready, simply choose your preferred date and time through the online booking calendar.
Once your reservation is complete, you'll receive everything you need to prepare for your visit, including helpful tips to make your Santa experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
I look forward to welcoming your family to Santa's Workshop and helping you create a Christmas tradition you'll cherish for years to come.
What happens after I book?
Once your Santa session is reserved, you'll receive everything you need to prepare for your visit.
I'll send helpful information about what to wear, when to arrive, and how to help your child feel excited and confident about meeting Santa. You'll also receive a short questionnaire that helps Santa personalize your child's experience. This is how Santa knows your child's name, celebrates some of their accomplishments from the past year, and has their name waiting on his Nice List.
My goal is for you to arrive feeling relaxed, prepared, and ready to enjoy the experience. By taking care of the details ahead of time, your family can simply focus on making magical Christmas memories together.
